התפקיד כולל ליווי צמוד של רופאים ואחיות, מענה ראשוני לתקלות, הדרכה פרטנית, בדיקות מערכת וסיוע ביצירת חומרי הדרכה. העבודה דורשת גישה שירותית, יוזמה ויכולת עבודה בסביבה דינמית ומשתנה, תוך תיאום עם צוותים רפואיים בכירים וזוטרים.
